On 1 July, the Regional Innovative Tourism Product (RITM) programme, developed by the State Tourism Agency to support tourism startups in the regions, as well as to attract investment in regional tourism, was presented to the public.
It was noted at the presentation that RITM, as a regional entrepreneurship programme, will work to stimulate innovative startups by attracting investors and IT professionals in the field of tourism, developing the entrepreneurial potential of the local population, as well as supporting small and medium entrepreneurs in tourism.
Chairman of the State Tourism Agency Fuad Nagiyev said the startup program will contribute to improving the quality of services in our regions, increasing the number and range of tourism products, as well as the development of sustainable tourism.
Fuad Nagiyev noted that the development of regional tourism is one of the main factors that will increase employment and create new tourism-oriented businesses.
Chairman of the Board of the Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) of the Republic of Azerbaijan Orkhan Mammadov said the RITM project is aimed at real and measurable results, and expressed readiness to provide full support to the project.
He praised the components of the project aimed at providing employment through SMEs.
During the presentation, the functions of the website https://ritm.tourismboard.az/, designed to help participants join the RITM programme, were explained, as well as the terms and conditions for applying to the startup programme. Only citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan can join the programme.
The questions of media representatives were answered at a press conference with the participation of STA and ATB officials.
The RITM programme is co-sponsored by the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ), the Azerbaijan Small and Medium Business Development Agency (SMBDA) and the international audit company PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC).
