Selection Process for International Events
We are committed to fostering transparency and fairness in the selection process for exhibitions and international events. This ensures that every eligible company has an equal opportunity to participate based on merit and alignment with event objectives.
Our selection process is guided by clearly defined eligibility requirements and scoring criteria, designed to evaluate companies on their suitability and performance. Below is an overview of how we assess applicants and allocate participation slots to maintain openness and trust in the process.
Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for participation, all applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be registered in the Tourism Registry.
- Be a member of recognized Tourism Associations.
- Have a positive track record from past events.
- Have no outstanding debts to Azerbaijan Tourism Board.
Reserved Slots
- 10% of slots are reserved for:
- Newly established companies
- State-owned companies
Competitive Selection
- 90% of participants are chosen through a competitive evaluation process based on the following scoring criteria:
Scoring Criteria

Relevance to the Event Target Market (Weight: 5)
- Assessed based on factors such as market expertise, language-skilled staff, specialized products, and customer service capabilities.

Performance Assessment Review (Weight: 4)
- Evaluated based on the company’s performance in previous events.

Customer Reviews (Weight: 4)
- Feedback from reputable sources is considered.

Digital Visibility (Weight: 3)
- Scored according to the company’s level of online presence, including booking systems, websites featuring Azerbaijan, and active social media accounts.

Tourism Registry Participation (Weight: 2)
- Participation in programs and quality initiatives under the Tourism Registry.

Participation Frequency (Weight: 1)
- Companies with fewer repeat participations in similar events receive higher scores.
Ensuring Transparency
To uphold transparency, most of the information is gathered internally using records and verified resources. For customer reviews, we do check feedback from international listings such as Tripadvisor, Trip.com, Google Business Profile, TrustYou, and Booking.com.
Applicants are kindly asked to ensure their Tourism Registry information is up to date, as this forms a key part of the evaluation process.
