From 7-14 September, Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) organized a familiarization trip to Azerbaijan for representatives of 9 tourism companies from Poland, 5 tourism companies from Czechia and 5 tourism companies from Hungary.
The participants visited some of Baku’s key tourism attractions as well as visited Shamakhi, Shaki and Gabala, gaining first-hand insight into the country’s tourism offerings.
Within the framework of the visit, a B2B workshop was organized, bringing together tourism industry representatives from Poland, Czechia and Hungary with more than 60 local companies. The meetings served as an important platform for discussing new cooperation opportunities, establishing business connections, and expanding partnership prospects.
Travel to Azerbaijan has also been made increasingly accessible for EU travelers, with direct flights from Warsaw, Prague and Budapest to Baku by LOT Polish Airlines, Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), and WizzAir. Travellers from EU countries can apply for an e-VISA through evisa.gov.az 3 working days before their planned arrival date, or opt for an urgent visa, which is processed within 3 hours. The visa is valid for 90 days, during which travelerscan visit Azerbaijan for up to 30 days.
Reflecting ease of accessibility, visitor numbers from Poland increased by 14.9%, while arrivals from Czechia and Hungary grew by 0.2% and 5.6%, respectively, in January-August 2026 compared with the same period last year.
