Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) welcomed representatives from 5 leading Japanese travel companies on a familiarization trip held from 22–27 October 2025. The initiative aimed to strengthen tourism cooperation and allowed Japanese travel companies gain a deeper understanding of Azerbaijan as a key travel destination.
During the week-long program, the participants explored Baku’s cultural and historic landmarks, including UNESCO-listed sites of the Baku’s Old Town and Gobustan State Reserve, as well as popular regions among tourists such as Shamakhi, Gabala, Shaki and Gakh. The trip showcased Azerbaijan’s rich heritage, stunning landscapes, and modern attractions that can appeal to Japanese tourists.
On 27th October, a B2B networking event brought together the Japanese travel trade representatives and local industry partners. The session allowed both sides to exchange ideas, discuss market needs, and explore new collaboration opportunities to boost future visitor numbers from Japan.
