On September 8th, 2025, a series of events were held in Hanoi as part of the official visit of Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB).
The program began with the “Experience Azerbaijan” event, jointly organized by ATB and the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, in collaboration with Hanoi College of Commerce and Tourism (HCCT). Organized on the HCCT campus, the program aimed to present Azerbaijan’s diverse tourism offerings, exchange knowledge on tourism operations, and explore opportunities for bilateral cooperation. The event was attended by Shovgi Mehdizada, Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Vietnam, and Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of ATB.
“Last week, Azerbaijan Tourism Board participated in the ITE exhibition in Ho Chi Minh City where we were represented alongside leading Azerbaijani travel companies. As a continuation of this mission, we are pleased to now be in Hanoi to meet with partners from the local tourism industry and explore ways to develop closer cooperation” - said Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of ATB, during his opening speech.
The “Experience Azerbaijan” event welcomed representatives of 12 diplomatic missions to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, along with tourism industry stakeholders, tourism agencies, and students, offering an engaging introduction to Azerbaijan’s diverse landscapes, cultural heritage, and tourism offerings. The program also provided a platform to explore practical avenues for strengthening tourism ties between the two countries, including joint promotion initiatives, exchange programs, and cooperation in hospitality training.
Following the event, ATB representatives met with Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam National Authority of Tourism (VNAT), as well as with the leadership of VietJet Air, including Vice President Nguyen Duc Thinh and Commercial Director Ta Huu Thanh. These initiatives reflect the shared vision of Azerbaijan and Vietnam to deepen cooperation in tourism and aviation, while also fostering broader cultural exchanges and people-to-people connections.
