Azerbaijan Tourism Board is actively promoting its diverse tourism offerings at the Eastern Mediterranean International Travel and Tourism Exhibition (EMITT 2025), which has commenced in Istanbul, Türkiye, from February 5 to 7.
The “Experience Azerbaijan” stand brings together 10 local tourism industry representatives along with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), offering attendees a glimpse into the country’s diverse travel experiences. Visitors can explore Azerbaijan’s tourism offerings, which includes gastronomic tourism, wine routes, winter getaways, and mountain ski resorts, as well as its UNESCO-listed cultural heritage sites. Beyond these attractions, the national stand also offers a taste of Azerbaijan’s rich culinary traditions. Guests have the opportunity to enjoy local delicacies
such as shekerbura and pakhlava, immersing themselves in the country’s authentic flavors while learning about its deep-rooted gastronomic culture.
The exhibition also facilitates B2B meetings with tourism professionals from Türkiye and other nations, creating valuable opportunities for collaboration and business expansion. With representatives from 95 countries in attendance, EMITT 2025 serves as a key platform for Azerbaijan to strengthen its presence in global tourism markets.
Türkiye continues to be a major tourism source market for Azerbaijan. In 2024, the country ranked second in the number of international visitors to Azerbaijan, with 426,241 Turkish travelers, marking a 13% increase compared to the previous year.
By participating in EMITT 2025, Azerbaijan seeks to reinforce its tourism ties with Türkiye and other global partners while introducing a growing range of travel experiences to international audiences.
