From time-honoured recipes to distinctive regional flavours, Azerbaijan’s culinary heritage took centre stage at the 10th International Adana Taste Festival, held in Adana from 9 to 11 October. The Representative Office of Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) in Türkiye, together with the Azerbaijan National Culinary Centre, showcased the country’s rich gastronomic traditions and diverse travel experiences, inviting festivalgoers to discover the flavours, stories and cultural heritage that make Azerbaijan a destination worth exploring.
Marking its tenth edition under the theme “With Its Heat & Sweetness - Tenfold Flavour”, the festival brought together chefs, producers, culinary professionals and gastronomy enthusiasts from Türkiye and beyond, creating a vibrant meeting point for regional flavours, traditions and contemporary approaches to food.
At Azerbaijan’s dedicated stand, visitors were introduced to a culinary culture shaped by local ingredients, generations of shared knowledge and traditions that vary from one region of the country to another. Azerbaijani chefs presented a selection of national dishes and delicacies through live cooking demonstrations, offering festivalgoers the opportunity to experience the aromas, techniques and flavours that have long been part of the country’s food culture. The stand was also visited by the Governor of Adana, Mustafa Yavuz, during the festival.
The programme also highlighted the close connection between Azerbaijan’s gastronomy and the wider travel experience. From recipes passed down through generations to regional produce and the people who keep culinary traditions alive, the presentation offered visitors a taste of the stories, landscapes and communities behind the country’s cuisine.
As one of Türkiye’s major gastronomy gatherings, the International Adana Taste Festival has grown into a platform connecting culinary heritage, local production and international exchange. Its tenth edition featured chef demonstrations, workshops, talks and other gastronomy-focused activities across three days.
Azerbaijan’s participation continued the country’s efforts to present gastronomy as an integral part of its tourism offering, inviting travellers to go beyond tasting individual dishes and discover the destinations, traditions and people that give each flavour its sense of place.
