Azerbaijan Tourism Board shared Azerbaijan’s experience in developing tourism standards and quality requirements at the 15th Technical Committees Week of the Standards and Metrology Institute for Islamic Countries (SMIIC), held in Tunis, Tunisia. Discussions focused on tourism service quality, certification and halal tourism, including services catering to diverse cultural and religious needs.
Jointly organised by SMIIC and the National Institute for Standardization and Industrial Property of Tunisia (INNORPI), the event brought together experts from SMIIC member countries to exchange knowledge and experience in standardisation, conformity assessment, certification and accreditation.
The programme also provided a platform for ATB representatives to contribute to discussions on the development of tourism and related services, with a particular focus on halal tourism, certification and effective management systems.
ATB’s participation highlighted Azerbaijan’s experience in developing tourism standards and quality requirements, while also bringing valuable international perspectives on tourism services and certification. The exchange with tourism and standardisation institutions from participating countries further contributed to exploring new approaches to delivering high-quality, certified and inclusive tourism services.
