The Representation Office of Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) in Türkiye participated as the Country Partner of GlobeMeets at GlobeMeets B2B Networking Event 2026, held on 10-11 September in Istanbul, presenting Azerbaijan’s tourism offerings, cultural heritage and renowned hospitality to travel industry professionals from Türkiye and around the world.
The event brought together more than 1,000 visitor (buyer) agencies from Istanbul, along with 250 hosted buyer agencies and 250 international hosted buyer agencies from 20 countries, creating a valuable platform for networking, business development and new collaboration opportunities.
As Country Partner, ATB showcased the diversity of Azerbaijan’s tourism experiences, highlighting the country’s strengths in culture, gastronomy, luxury travel, nature, wellness and MICE. Special focus was placed on Shusha, one of Azerbaijan’s most significant cultural destinations, which has been named the Tourism Capital of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) for 2026. The presentation highlighted Shusha’s rich history, architectural heritage, musical traditions and growing role as a cultural tourism destination.
One of the highlights of the event was a traditional Azerbaijani tea ceremony, where guests experienced the customary preparation and serving of tea by hosts dressed in national costume.
Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, Mr. Zamin Aliyev, also attended the event, underlining its significance and the strong cultural and tourism ties between Azerbaijan and Türkiye.
