Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) organized a familiarization trip to Azerbaijan for representatives of 9 leading Russian travel companies from May 31 to June 5.
The aim of the trip was to present Azerbaijan’s winemaking traditions, strengthen cooperation with the Russian travel trade industry, and promote the country as a destination for wine-focused travel experiences.
The six-day program highlighted the country’s rich winemaking heritage through visits to wineries and tourism attractions in Baku, Ganja, Shaki, Gabala, Ismayilli, and Shamakhi.
The program also highlighted several accommodation facilities and Azerbaijan’s mountain and adventure tourism offerings through visits to Tufandag Mountain Resort in Gabala.
The B2B workshop organized in Baku brought together representatives of 9 leading Russian travel companies and more than 50 local tourism industry representatives, creating opportunities for new partnerships and strengthening the country’s position as an emerging wine tourism (enotourism) destination in the Russian market.
