The 1st UN Tourism Regional Conference on the Empowerment of Women in Tourism in Europe took place on 22–23 October 2025 in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
The two-day international conference brought together leading female voices and sector stakeholders to discuss women’s leadership, entrepreneurship, digital skills, and the challenges posed by gender stereotypes in tourism. Participants also explored strategies to eliminate the barriers that limit women’s economic and social empowerment in the industry.
Azerbaijan was represented at the conference by Sadagat Davudova, Deputy Chairman of the Reserves Management Center under the State Tourism Agency. She contributed as a speaker in a panel session titled “Gender Equality in Tourism Governance”.

Throughout the conference, delegates engaged in dialogue with leaders from both the public and private sectors who are driving social innovation, addressing gender inequalities, and shaping strategies for a more inclusive global tourism sector.
