Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) successfully participated in the Luxury Travel Mart (LTM), held on September 17th in Astana and September 19th in Almaty. Participation at these events aimed to present Azerbaijan’s diverse tourism offerings, with a particular focus on health and wellness, world-class ski resorts, immersive cultural experiences, and the growing business events sector.
The B2B meetings, attended by more than 30 leading tour operators and travel agencies, including representatives from Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, served as an important platform for establishing new business partnerships and positioning Azerbaijan as a key player in Central Asia’s luxury tourism sector.
The Central Asian market has demonstrated remarkable growth in recent years, and this dynamic was reflected in the notable rise in visitor numbers. From January to August 2025, Azerbaijan welcomed 69,332 travelers from Kazakhstan and 37,718 from Uzbekistan, marking an increase of 19% and 28%, respectively, compared to the same period of the previous year. The rise has been driven by enhanced air connectivity, with direct flights linking Baku to Almaty, Astana, Aktau, Atyrau, Tashkent, Samargand and Urgench operated by AZAL, Air Astana, FlyArystan, and Uzbekistan Airways.
LTM proved to be a vital platform for establishing valuable partnerships and contributed to the steady growth of the country’s tourism sector. With its excellent accessibility, high-end luxury offerings, and strong commitment to world-class hospitality, Azerbaijan continues to position itself as a preferred destination for discerning travelers.
