Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) deepened its engagement with the Chinese travel market through a multi-city Roadshow from September 15–19, 2025. The program, which took place in Beijing, Shanghai, and Guangzhou, featured a series of high-level events designed to strengthen business ties and open new avenues of collaboration between Chinese and Azerbaijani tourism stakeholders.
The program started in Beijing and included a distinguished visit to H.E. Mr. Bunyad Huseynov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the People’s Republic of China, at the embassy.
A key highlight of this program was the signing of a MoU between ATB and leading Chinese online travel platform Qunar, aimed at jointly promoting Azerbaijan in the Chinese market through Qunar’s extensive digital channels and leveraging innovative strategies to enhance Azerbaijan’s visibility as a premium destination.
The roadshow continued with a B2B workshop in Shanghai attended by suppliers of Fliggy, one of China’s leading online travel platforms, who also joined meetings with our local travel trade representatives. This was followed by a Gala Dinner with key industry players including Fliggy, Trip.com, and 8Continents, providing direct opportunities for dialogue and collaboration between 60 Chinese and 20 Azerbaijani participants.
In Guangzhou, the program concluded with B2B meetings where Guangdong China Travel Service, one of the largest travel service companies in China, joined the B2B meetings, building new relationships and presenting Azerbaijan as a year-round destination for travelers.
Through this series of engagements, ATB has continued to position Azerbaijan as a diverse and attractive destination for Chinese travelers, reinforcing China’s importance as a key outbound market.
