On June 21st, 2025, Azerbaijan Tourism Board and the Albanian National Tourism Agency signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to foster dynamic cooperation in tourism. The agreement spans an initial five-year term, with an automatic renewal for another five years, promising a decade of collaborative efforts to boost cultural exchange, sustainable tourism, and mutual economic growth.
The MoU was signed by Mr. Florian Sengstschmid, CEO of Azerbaijan Tourism Board, and Ms. Zana Çela, General Director of the Albanian National Tourism Agency. The agreement aims to promote mutual tourism exchange, strengthen collaboration between tourism stakeholders, and support initiatives that enhance accessibility and development in the tourism sectors of both countries.
The MoU establishes a framework for collaboration, focusing on exchanging expertise in sustainable tourism, aligning with the COP29 Declaration on Enhanced Climate Action in Tourism, and promoting year-round tourism in coastal and mountainous areas. The participants will share tourism data, marketing strategies, and support expert interactions to boost skills and industry growth. The agreement also includes mutual promotion through events such as exhibitions, conferences, fairs, and tourism days, with support for organizing tourism forums, trainings, and media familiarization tours to raise awareness and attract more visitors to both countries, leveraging media partnerships to highlight their unique attractions.
