From April 23 to 25, held in Almaty, Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) participates in the Kazakhstan International Tourism Fair (KITF 2025), a key event for the Central Asian tourism sector.
Azerbaijan’s tourism offerings are represented by Azerbaijan Tourism Board and 11 local industry partners, including Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) and Shahdag Mountain Resort. Their joint participation aims to strengthen ties with the regional tourism market and explore new directions for cooperation.
During the event, Kenan Guluzade, Advisor to the Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan, met with Yerzhan Yerkinbayev, Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan. The meeting focused on developing tourism relations and exploring potential areas for collaboration between the two countries.
Agalar Atamoghlanov, Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Kazakhstan also visited the "Experience Azerbaijan" stand.
At the stand, visitors can enjoy traditional sweets like shekerbura and pakhlava, a delightful taste of Azerbaijan’s rich culinary heritage.
Celebrating over two decades as a key industry platform, KITF continues to bring together global and local tourism professionals to exchange ideas and forge strategic partnerships. Azerbaijan’s participation this year signals its strengthened focus on the Central Asian market and its growing appeal among travelers from Kazakhstan, demonstrated by a notable 10% increase in visitor numbers during the first quarter of 2025 compared to the same period last year.
