A strategic meeting has been held in Gakh on April 11 to initiate the district’s Tourism Development Plan. The initiative, discussed during the meeting, was led by the State Tourism Agency and Azerbaijan Tourism Board, with the support of the Executive Power of the Gakh District.
The primary goal of the meeting was to explore ways to boost Gakh’s tourism potential, establish a sustainable tourism plan involving both public and private sector stakeholders, and ensure effective collaboration on the implementation of key priorities and actions.
In his opening remarks, Musa Shakiliyev, Head of the Executive Power of Gakh District, welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of evaluating the region’s tourism resources.
Rashad Aliyev, Deputy CEO at Azerbaijan Tourism Board, provided an overview of the working group’s initial discussions and shared proposals related to the development plan.
Tourism industry stakeholders and representatives from local government bodies took part in the meeting, engaging in open dialogue on the plan’s priorities and key focus areas.
As a next step, a draft of the Gakh Tourism Development Plan will be prepared and presented to the working group for further review and coordination.
