From November 11–14, Azerbaijan Tourism Board participated in its first official engagement with the Nordic tourism market at the "Nordic Roadshow," a premier event connecting global destinations with the region’s tourism market, organized by Aviareps. The event took place across four capital cities in the region—Stockholm, Helsinki, Oslo, and Copenhagen - and was designed to encourage new business connections whilst promoting a tourism destination’s offerings.
During the event, ATB highlighted Azerbaijan’s diverse and colorful culture, historical landmarks, and natural beauty. Representatives answered a wide range of questions about Azerbaijan’s tourism offerings, including its historic cities, UNESCO World Heritage sites, and diverse landscapes that offer ample outdoor activities.
The roadshow provided a B2B (business-to-business) format, in which tourism boards, airlines, international hotel brands, and cruise companies from around the world, in addition to 40-50 local tourism companies and media representatives in each city, had opportunities to network and discuss potential collaborations.
A total of 6,898 visitors from Sweden, Finland, Norway, and Denmark traveled to Azerbaijan from January to October 2024, reflecting a 24% increase compared to the same period last year.
