Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) successfully participated in the Luxury Travel Mart (LTM) Autumn edition and co-hosted a Business Seminar-Breakfast with Kazakhstan’s leading tour operator, Kompas Tour, in September 2024, further strengthening its position as a premier travel destination for Kazakhstani tourists.
On September 18th in Astana and September 20th in Almaty, Azerbaijan Tourism Board took part in the Luxury Travel Mart (LTM), a prestigious B2B event dedicated to luxury travel products. The event provided a valuable opportunity for companies to establish new relationships and reinforce existing ties within the CIS luxury travel market. In both cities, Azerbaijan Tourism Board engaged with 25 leading tour operators and travel agencies, promoting a wide array of tourism offerings, including Azerbaijan’s luxury tourism sector. Highlights included ski resorts such as Shahdag and Tufandag, Baku’s vibrant city-breaks, wellness centers, and thermal spas. The board also presented Azerbaijan as an ideal destination for MICE tourism, luxury accommodations, and exclusive private tours, underscoring Azerbaijan’s commitment to expanding its presence in the Kazakhstani market.
On September 19th, Azerbaijan Tourism Board, in collaboration with Kompas Tour, organized a business breakfast seminar in Almaty. The event, attended by 50 travel agents from Kompas Tour, featured a destination presentation focused on Azerbaijan’s top tourist attractions, with particular emphasis on the upcoming ski season. The seminar offered valuable insights into Azerbaijan’s diverse travel experiences, from cultural tours to winter sports, positioning Azerbaijan as a must-visit destination for Kazakhstani tourists.
Tourist arrivals from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan saw significant growth in 2024. From January to August, Azerbaijan welcomed 58,082 tourists from Kazakhstan, representing a 64% increase compared to the same period in 2023, which recorded 35,471 arrivals. This growth highlights Azerbaijan’s increasing appeal among Kazakhstani travelers, especially for luxury tourism, winter sports, and cultural experiences. Azerbaijan Tourism Board looks forward to building on the success of these events and continuing to strengthen relationships with the Kazakhstani market.
