As part of the event, Javanshir Bayramov, Deputy CEO of Azerbaijan Tourism Board shared the strategic insights of the destination at the panel discussion titled "Winning the Indian Traveler: Strategies from Powerhouse Destinations".
Azerbaijan’s deep cultural and historical connections with India make it a natural choice for Indian visitors. With a heritage spanning 5,000 years, Azerbaijan has been a melting pot of civilizations, enriched by its location along the historic Great Silk Road. Ateshgah stands as a testament to this rich heritage, as this Fire Temple, marked by spouts of flames, and inscriptions in Sanskrit adorned by 19th-century Hindu merchants, continues to captivate visitors.
Beyond its rich history, Azerbaijan offers a welcoming, and family-oriented environment, catering to Indian travelers who value immersive cultural experiences, seamless travel logistics, and personalized hospitality.
Azerbaijan’s position as a premier destination for global events and tourism is underscored by its world-class infrastructure, including the Skytrax 5-star-rated Baku International Airport, luxury chain hotels, and iconic venues such as Flame Towers, Heydar Aliyev Centre, and Baku Congress Centre. Last year’s hosting of COP29 further solidified Azerbaijan’s reputation as a leader in the business events.
With increasing demand from Indian travelers, Azerbaijan offers 14 weekly direct flights via Azerbaijan Airlines and IndiGo, connecting Delhi and Mumbai to Baku. Travelers from India can easily obtain an e-VISA through evisa.gov.az within three days or opt for an urgent visa processed within 3 to 5 hours, ensuring a hassle-free travel experience.
