The Trip.com Group Global Partner Summit, held in Abu Dhabi on September 18th, brought together over 2,000 tourism industry professionals from across the globe. Among 60 participating destinations, Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) received recognition with the “Best Global Partner” and “Excellent Partner of the Year” awards. The summit served as a platform for sharing insights, trends, and innovative ideas through focused sub-summits. The awards also reflect the success of Azerbaijan Tourism Board’s (ATB) collaboration with Trip.com Group, showcasing their shared commitment to enhancing Azerbaijan’s presence in international markets and offering Chinese travelers opportunities to explore more destinations.
The recognition at the summit underscores Azerbaijan Tourism Board’s (ATB) long-standing efforts to strengthen its relationship with the Chinese travel market, an initiative that has been consistently developed over the years and continued through a series of strategically planned activities. Collaboration with Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), ATB formalized a partnership with Trip.com Group, a leading online travel agencies provider, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This agreement aims to leverage Trip.com Group’s platforms to promote Azerbaijan as a premier destination for Chinese travelers. Through Trip.com Group’s globally recognized platforms, including Trip.com, Ctrip, Qunar, and others, the partnership will ensure tailored marketing campaigns and innovative strategies to attract more visitors and assist travellers in the creation of unforgettable travel experiences. With these efforts underway, ATB is committed to further strengthening and expanding its collaborations with Trip.com Group in the year to come.
To further promote Azerbaijan as a travel destination, ATB has also been actively organizing multi-city roadshows across key Chinese cities, facilitating direct connections between Azerbaijani tourism stakeholders and Chinese travel agencies, airlines, and hotels. By showcasing Azerbaijan’s unique offerings, ranging from UNESCO-listed heritage sites to luxury experiences and wellness opportunities, these initiatives have significantly bolstered interest among Chinese travelers. With such comprehensive efforts, including the strategic use of year-long free visa policies and enhanced travel infrastructure, Azerbaijan recorded 42,374 Chinese tourist arrivals in the first eleven months of 2024, more than doubling the figures from the same period in 2023. ATB remains committed to sustaining and expanding these initiatives to further solidify Azerbaijan’s appeal as a top destination for Chinese tourists.
Azerbaijan’s success in attracting Chinese travelers is further supported by the development of its China Ready Program, which ensures a seamless and personalized travel experience. By combining strategic partnerships, innovative promotional efforts, and enhanced travel conveniences, Azerbaijan continues to establish itself as a top destination for Chinese tourists, reflecting the effectiveness of ATB’s targeted initiatives.
