Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) is participating in the World Travel Market (WTM) 2024 in London from November 5th to 7th. This global event provides ATB with an excellent opportunity to reconnect with tourism partners and showcase Azerbaijan as a top travel destination. Together with ten travel trade companies, including Azerbaijan Airlines and Shahdag Mountain Resort, Azerbaijan presents a versatile array of travel experiences. These offerings range from hiking in mesmerising landscapes and birdwatching in lush nature to indulging in luxurious wellness resorts and savouring authentic Azerbaijani cuisine and wine experiences.
Visitors to Azerbaijan’s stand have a chance to immerse themselves in Azerbaijan's rich tourism offerings through different interactive experiences. Everyone is welcomed to enjoy tasting of Azerbaijani wine and national sweets available all three days at the national stand. Additionally, ATB offers an exciting VR experience that transports visitors to the wonders of Azerbaijan, allowing them to take a glimpse into the breathtaking landscapes and vibrant culture of the destination. Highlighting the significance of the event, Elin Suleymanov, the Ambassador to the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, also visited the stand, showcasing the strong bilateral ties between the two countries.
Today’s travellers enjoy a diverse range of modern amenities in Azerbaijan, including world-class hotels, restaurants, and shopping centres. An exciting week spent amongst Baku’s diverse architecture and top-notch restaurants can be complemented with exceptional experiences in Azerbaijan’s less urban regions. Travellers can discover the heritage of the legendary Silk Road in Sheki and the small mountain village of Basgal, known for preserving the traditional craft of kelaghayi, the exquisite Azerbaijani silk headscarf, handmade and printed with natural dyes. For the true nomadic experience, one can journey into the mountaintop village of Khinalig, located 2,220 metres above sea level in the Greater Caucasus Mountains. Newly developed hiking routes along ancient passes lead visitors through the lush landscapes of the diverse terrain, and across historic mountain villages and astonishing views.
British tourists can conveniently enjoy 6 weekly direct flights operated by AZAL airlines and can easily obtain their e-Visa through evisa.gov.az at least 3 days before the planned arrival date to Azerbaijan, or opt for an urgent visa, which can be processed within 3 to 5 hours. The visa is valid for 90 days, during which British travellers can visit Azerbaijan for up to 30 days at a time.
