State Tourism Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan (STA) and Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB) is pleased to announced the launch of the "China Ready" program aimed at enhancing the country's inbound tourism sector to better accommodate and cater to Chinese travellers. This comprehensive program will involve the participation of 100 members of Azerbaijan's tourism trade, who will undergo specialized training to become certified as "Chinese Tourist Friendly."
In conjunction with the program, Azerbaijan Tourism Board has organized a seminar that hosted 100 VIP guests, including governmental authorities and travel trade representatives from both countries. During the event Fuad Naghiyev, Chairman of the State Tourism Agency of Azerbaijan welcomed guests, noting the importance of the collaboration with China and long-lasting friendship between two countries. The event followed with the remarks and destination presentation by Javanshir Bayramov, Deputy CEO of Azerbaijan Tourism Board, who shared insights of the tourism offerings. This event served as a platform to foster cooperation, and establish significant collaborations. Moreover, during this event, AZAL representatives Ruslan Abdullayev and Rinat Azizov presented, and announced a new flight Baku-Beijing-Baku. AZAL is committed to providing a safe, comfortable and convenient travel experience for passengers and this new route marks a significant step toward expanding our global network.
Notably, the "China Ready" program is part of a broader initiative aimed at making Azerbaijan a preferred destination for Chinese travellers. The program also encompasses physical assessments of destinations, training of key stakeholders, including hotels, transportation services, guides, and airport staff. This 12-month-long training program will equip industry members with the necessary skills and knowledge to cater to the specific needs of Chinese travellers.
The "China Ready" program is designed to cover various aspects of the Chinese tourism market, ensuring that Azerbaijan is well-prepared to welcome and serve Chinese visitors. The key areas of focus include broader comprehension of the Chinese culture and preferences of Chinese tourists, and gaining insights into the dynamics of the Chinese outbound travel market. Within the program companies will get a chance to enhance language proficiency, particularly Mandarin, to facilitate clearer communication. As a result of the program, tourism and hospitality sectors will get insights into specialized guidance and strategies for effectively marketing Azerbaijan to Chinese travellers.
ATB is commencing this program with the active participation of 100 members from the tourism trade. It is also planned to have more suitable facilitates such as availability of the payment options for Chinese visitors, integration of Chinese traditional dishes into hotels’ menu and launch of more direct flight options.
Azerbaijan Tourism Board, in cooperation with key industry players and partners, is fully committed to ensuring that Azerbaijan is not only ready but also eager to provide exceptional experiences for Chinese visitors. The launch of the "China Ready" program is a significant step forward in achieving this goal.
