Azerbaijan is building closer connections with the Israeli travel industry this May through a series of focused events led by Azerbaijan Tourism Board (ATB). With growing interest from Israeli travelers and increasing connectivity between the two countries, the initiative is designed to build new partnerships, present fresh travel opportunities, and deepen engagement with the local tourism industry.
The program began with B2B roadshow sessions in Haifa on May 5 and in Tel Aviv on May 6. The events host around 40 and 65 invited Israeli tourism professionals, respectively. A total of 12 partners from Azerbaijan, including AZAL and Shahdag Mountain Resort will take part in the sessions, offering a unique opportunity for direct networking and cooperation-building.
The Tel Aviv event concluded with a gala dinner, featuring speeches from Mr. Mukhtar Mammadov, Ambassador of Azerbaijan Republic to the State of Israel, Mr. Peleg Lewi, Advisor to the Minister of Tourism of Israel, and representatives of ATB.
Following the roadshow, ATB and its partners will take part in IMTM 2025, held from May 7–8. Azerbaijan will be represented by 10 co-exhibitors including AZAL, showcasing the country’s rich tourism potential and strengthening visibility among international buyers and regional stakeholders. The participation aims to highlight Azerbaijan's diverse offerings from cultural and culinary experiences to nature and adventure tourism and to position the country as a year-round destination in the Mediterranean market.
Israeli travel to Azerbaijan has seen a notable rise in just the first four months nearly three times more than the same period last year. This upward trend is supported by convenient direct flights operated by AZAL and Israir between Tel Aviv and Baku, making travel between the two countries easier than ever. Since opening of ATB Branch in Israel in 2022, ATB has actively worked with local travel agencies, media, and other tourism stakeholders in Israel to promote the country’s diverse tourism experiences.
